Apple has released a support document detailing the exploit that has been patched in iOS 5.1 software update. Per support document, kernel exploit discovered by pod2g, which was later materialized into full blown untethered iOS 5 jailbreak has been closed. Apple has credited pod2g for untethered exploit discovered in iOS 5.0.x and ‘Jailbreak Dream Team’ for coding the pod2g’s untethered kernel exploit that bypassed sandbox restrictions leading to iPhone 4S and iPad 2 jailbreak.
