IAA panel for National Outreach Programme



Irish Autism Action endeavors to raise the quality of life of individuals and their families affected by autism through ensuring the highest standards in education, care, support, employment and equality of living opportunities in partnership with families.

As part of our National Outreach Programme, Irish Autism Action are seeking to establish a panel of suitably qualified individuals interested in providing direct intervention and support to schools and/or families of persons affected by autism. 

Successful candidates will have:

·    A recognised qualification in education,  autism or in an evidence based approach to teaching children with autism. Applicants holding third level qualifications from related disciplines (e.g. psychology, social science) will also be considered.
·    Previous experience working with children and/or adolescents with Autistic Spectrum Disorder.
·    Experience with augmenative communication methods (PECs, LAMH, etc).
·    Experience managing challenging behaviour is desirable but not essential.
·    Excellent verbal and written communication skills together with the ability to coach and motivate on a one-to-one basis.
·    References and Garda Clearance required.

Ongoing training and supervision will be provided. Flexible work hours essential.
