Simple Steps was the brainchild ofDr Mickey Keenan, University of Ulsterin Coleraine, and Dr Tony Byrne,father of two children that have autism and Chairman of charity PEAT (Parents’Education as Autism Therapists). The material was provided byleading experts in the field from universities in Ireland and UK– so parents can have confidence in the science behind it.
In addition toproviding affordable and sustainable parent support, Simple Steps is dedicatedto reinvesting heavily in the autism sector.
At €79 Simple Steps is within thereach of most people – there are other autism related on-line sites around butnone come close to the simplicity of Simple Steps, or its price point. Accessis also not time limited – you get it 24/7, forever. The organization plans toaugment the material significantly over the next few years and promise that thenew material will be available to current subscribers for a small additionalcharge.
In an effort to get the messageout Simple Steps is also working with local autism charities and special needsschools to get information to parents – a partnership which helps both parentsand the charity.
Simple Steps is also planning tohelp parents throughout Europeby providing foreign language versions of the site – there is currently verylittle help for parents in languages other than English.
