Nikon D400 -Product features

Nikon D400 is going to be one of the most sought after SLR photo camera of 2011. The successor of Nikon D300s is ready for a launch. According to the rumors there will be a significant megapixel boost (14.3), along with speed enhancement due to Nikon EXSPEED processor. Also the CMOS will be complimented by a 3-inch, 1MP LCD screen supporting Live View and face recognition technology.
Other upcoming features might include automatic color aberration control and 7 to 9 fpd burst which can be increased using a separate battery. Probable improvements and features of Nikon D400 would be as follows:
  • 720p HD video, with active recording auto-focus.
  • 14.8 megapixel DX format, CMOS sensor effective 14.3 megapixel.
  • Self-cleaning sensor unit.
  • 14-bit A/D conversion.
  • Super fast operations.
  • Auto-focus tracking by color.
  • Detailed ‘Control Panel’ type display on LCD monitor, changes color in darkness.
  • SD card slot (D300 only had a CF slot, D300s has both)
  • 1fps faster continuous shooting (7fps vs 6fps)

  • Addition of Live View/Info buttons.

  • Interactive settings display screen.
  • Auto and Extra High Active D-Lighting options.
