New iPad Battery Bug with charge indicator

In recent days has come a very interesting topic about the New iPad Battery and whether the device shows accurate charging indicator reported by CNBC. Unfortunately, the approach to be wrong and you should restore things so that no misinformation in the world.

Let's start from scratch. The Dr. Raymond Soneira of DisplayMate Technologies discovered that although the new iPad Indicator may indicate 100% when in fact the charging device is fully charged. This discovery shows that there is a bug with the counter on iOS reasonably be corrected in a future update.

This, however, says Soneira-relay and CNBC that is essentially the iPad overcharge the battery which can destroy it. This is a wrong and ignores the basic operation of lithium batteries. Lithium Batteries that are not only the iPad and iPhone, iPod, MacBook roundtrips are designed so that no other power draw when they reach 100 percent. The total battery capacity, but decreases over time as increasing load cycles. For the iPad, specifically, the battery retains up to 80 percent of its original capacity after 1000 charge cycles, ie 1000 times until the indicator goes from 100 percent to zero immediately or gradually.

There is therefore a risk to let your iPad charging all night simply because at some point and then stops drawing current and charge only taking care to keep the battery at 100 percent (trickle charging). The same is true, as we said, and the iPhone, MacBook Thread. The only two cases where the total battery capacity is reduced by completing a specified number of cycles (80% per 1000 cycles) and to have the device plugged in then literally. For this reason, Apple suggests once in a while to fully discharge the battery and the charge at 100 percent again. But this is not a symptom of the destruction of the battery but the physiological function of lithium batteries.

It's a good opportunity to mention for the umpteenth time in a common question new users on the first charge of their device. Unfortunately, many vendors advise consumers to charge for the first time the device for a long time (8 hours, 16 hours, 1 day roundtrips) to protect the battery. The advice was that although no prior decade shows great ignorance as well, as we mentioned, the device stops charging once it reaches 100 percent. Also, the initial charge has been made since the device is usually 80 percent of the factory, so all you achieve is to ... waste your time. More information about this can be found on the website of Apple.

The Michael Tchao, a representative of Apple, spoke at AllThingsD clarifying the issue that arose with the battery of the New iPad. The website says that indeed the iPad (like the iPhone and iPod touch) show marked 100 percent just before the device is fully charged. At this point the charging will continue until we actually completed (trickle charging), then little will be discharged and re-charge up to 100 percent by repeating this process until you disconnect the appliance.

In this way devices maintain ideal since you are charging circuit design allowing the user to keep the device plugged in as long as he wishes. The Michael Tchao note that this feature has always been iOS.
