How much Google pays Apple to be default in Safari

While users can choose between Google, Yahoo and MSN as a search engine to use in Safari on iOS, few people change the default setting!

As you can well imagine, this has a cost advantage for Google! But do you really know how much Google pays Apple to integrate its Search Engine on iOS?

Well according to the analyst Ben Schachter, Google paid to Apple last year the tidy sum of $1 billion! Maybe you already knew but it's also the same for the Mozilla Firefox browser which is almost entirely funded by Google! Internet users are using Firefox searches on Google and click on AdSense ads. Revenues that Google draws are then shared with Mozilla, which allows them to have the financial means to improve web standards and software that they publish (including Firefox and Mozilla Thunderbird), prompting other publishers Web browser to do the same.

Otherwise, there is Google Search application :

Google Search - App Store link.
For iPhone or iPad that allows you to search the Web and benefit from search features exclusive as voice dictation.
